Mettlelurgy is a watercolour painter based out of Vancouver, BC, Canada. Inspired to take up watercolour painting back in 2001 by her art mentor, she has since been pushing the popular conceptions of watercolour as it relates to illustration and portraiture. She plays with the ideas of the ever elusive concept of ‘energy’ – the way we feel, the way things make us feel, that invisible link between all things, fashion, relationships, and ‘inside’ beauty. Pop surrealism and low-brow art inspires her current practice.
Her first public showing was in 2009, and her paintings and portraits have found their way to homes in a number of cities including Vancouver, Toronto, Calgary, Portland, and Spokane.
